My dog has black specks on his stomach. Is it related to dandruff?

My 7 year old chiweenie has all these black specks on his stomach. They have been there for about a month. I don't know if it has something to do with his dandruff skin that I been trying to maintain. I have switch his food to Science Hill sensitive stomach and skin hoping that helps his dandruff skin. As well I been using Douxo Sevorrhea mousse, but only on his back next to his tail since he only gets it there. Ay I just want to make sure that this specks are nothing serious. Help! Plz thank u. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 6 months old | 14 lbs

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! From the picture, these black dots on Pokey's abdomen appear to me like comedones or better known as 'black heads'. You can try using a dog friendly shampoo than is Benzoyl peroxide based such as Vetoquinol Benzoyl-Plus Shampoo for Dogs and Cats. You can get this online or through your veterinarian. If the black dots persist, I would see your veterinarian. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!
