Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog had fever for 24 hrs 11 may to 12 morning on that day he had blood check where his platelets counts were 100000 and came positive with b. Gibsoni and he was on doxycycline 300mg a day and on canitoneLS twice a day andnow after 14 days he again had blood check where his platelets counts came 75000 (10x3/cumm) so how much is 10x3 cumm platelets and he has no fever since 12 may and vet said he has anaplasma so if his platelets are low how to increase and will it decrease more he is active

As the doxycycline keeps killing more and more of the blood parasites the body will be able to make and retain more healthy platelets. This may take a while. Feed your dog good quality food and he will have the strength to make enough platelets. It will take time.
