My 7-week-old Persian kitten is small. Is her age accurate?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 1.025 lbs

Hello. I got a new kitten for my birthday from a friend. (My friend was told by the breeder that she’s 7 weeks old)She’s really healthy, eats well, plays all day, interacts with us and all that. She has gained maybe 50 grams in 6 days. The problem is, she’s really small. She weighs 1.025 pounds but the breeder says, that’s how all the kitten from cat have been. that they are just small like that. She’s a persian kitten. I have a picture of a mother only. Is that possible that she’s really 7wks?

Hello, congratulations on your new kitten. It does look like she could be 7 weeks old. Cats grow at different rates and a lot of it is influenced by nursing, food, and any potential parasites they could have. I hope Tata continues to grow. Hope this helps and best of luck.
