My dog has been acting a little off today, within the hour his skin around eyes and on top of nose has turned pink. Could it be an allergic reaction?

Yes, it could be an allergic reaction, it could also be an eye infection. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take him to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

It is difficult to tell from the picture what exactly is going on with your puppy's eye. If the area you mentioned is free floating and moving around you may try to flush the eye with some sterile eye flush and see if you can flush it out. If the lesion is stationary it could be an area of infection or a foreign body in her eye and it that case I would recommend taking her to see your vet where they can perform a full opthalmic exam.

Oh dear! I agree that his right eye looks quite enlarged compared to the left. This does not look like a cherry eye (proptosed tear gland), as this usually appears as a localized pink swelling in the inner corner of the eye. This looks more like the eye globe itself is swollen or enlarged for some reason. I can't say what might be causing this without being able to do a full ophthalmic exam, but some possible causes would include acute glaucoma, a birth defect, or some type of trauma to the eye or surrounding issues. I would recommend having this checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible to determine what's wrong with the eye and see if it can be treated.

Hello. Swelling around the eyes and pink eyes are usually a sign of either allergies (however 6 months is very young for allergies to present), or irritation or inflammation. Irritation can occur due to trauma (does she play in the dirt or trees where she would get stuff in her eyes), or due to dry-eye which is a condition where she doesn't produce enough tears. Inflammation can occur secondary to trauma or dry-eye, but can also be due to an allergic reaction to a bee sting or ant bite or spider bite. If your puppy's face seems swollen or if her eyes seem irritated at all I would recommend that you have her seen by a veterinarian.
