My dog had his eye removed two months ago and the vet didn't see the eyelid shut and I cannot afford to take him in to get the rest of the tissue removed and to get it sewn up...they said it may close and heal up on its own without absest. The eye is not leaking fluid amd they did take the eye out itself so if i have no other choice would I be able to glue the lid shut myself with dermabond or superglue? We simply cannot afford 450$ at this time and I dont want the eye to stay open.

No....you absolutely can not glue this shut. In order to close this, all of the tear producing structures and the rim of the eyelids have to be surgically cut back until you can just see the skin Then the skin edges are sewn together. . It does not appear from the photo that any of that tissue was removed. This will not seal or close on its own. It will remain open and it will continue to produce tears and remain moist. Unfortunately, the only solution is to have the surgery properly completed. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
