Stepped on dog's toe 5 days ago, it's swollen but he's active. Is he okay?

I stepped on my dogs toe about 5 days ago. It is round like a ball but gets smaller as each day passes by. He does not limp and is very active still. Please let me know if he is okay. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 75 lbs

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Snowman. He may have sustained a fracture to that toe. It would be worth having him evaluated by his veterinarian to have an x-ray of that paw. He would also benefit from pain medication that contains an anti-inflammatory to help further decrease the swelling. I glad he feels well enough to be active, but I recommend keeping quiet.
