My cat ate something poisonous. What should I do right away for her?

What is the best cure for a poisoned cat or is there any home remedy that i can do as quickly as i could that i can find in my home or is there any herbs that can stop the poison ?

Hello, it really depends on what poison or toxin your cat got into. There are specific therapies for these. If it is recent ingestion of a toxin or poison, you may have your veterinarian induce vomiting to prevent the side effects of this toxin. I would recommend finding immediate emergency care for your cat and informing them what specific poison or ingestion of toxin you think your cat got into so that they can better help you. I would be concerned that your cat is having a toxic or other severe reaction, or is very ill/sick and that unfortunately requires immediate medical attention by a veterinarian in person. If you do not have a vet in your area, trying to see if there is a vet nearby that you can get to would be best. If you suspect your cat got into the chemical, bathing can help remove any excess toxin still on the skin to stop it from absorbing more, as well as moving your cat to a well-ventilated area, however if she is already showing symptoms she requires immediate care.

Unfortunately, the lily plant is one of the most toxic houseplants for cats, and eating as little as two or three leaves is enough to cause liver failure. If left untreated, it can be fatal, and Callie has to see a vet right away. I would call a friend to see if they could come watch your baby, and take her into a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. I think my kitten ingested Ivomec. What can I do?
I would call the Pet Poison hotline immediately. +1-855-764-7661 They have 24/7 veterinarians who specialize in toxicities. They also have access to databases of cases that match Sylvester’s. They can tell you whether you need to rush to the emergency vet or to not worry at all. There is a $59 fee but that is much cheaper than an emergency vet visit! Please, take him to your local vets today, as it sounds that he is struggling a lot. There are no remedies that you can give him at home, so the sooner you take him to your local vets the better for your cat.

The intoxication depends on the dosage ingested. By the sound of it, if they ingested them they would have shown signs by now especially regarding the Venlafaxine. No home remedies are available unfortunately.

Oh no, I'm so sorry that both of your cats have died recently! You are correct that they could have gotten into something toxic causing their symptoms, but unfortunately without seeing them in person, I can't say what that toxin might be. You could take their bodies into a vet for a necropsy (an autopsy for cats) which may give you some answers. If it's too late to take them in because you've already buried them, then I recommend looking out for similar symptoms in any other cats you may have at home. Should you see those symptoms again, rush them into a vet immediately for treatment. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss :-(

Hello our cat caught & ate a baby rat on Sunday, was sick & is now not wanting dinner although she ate dinner yesterday. She has been out today but as we have got poison in out buildings which are locked, could she be poisoned? Breathing is normal
I would be concerned that Willow ingested a rat that had ingested some poison previously. Some poisons may cause more problems than others when ingested secondarily. The other possibility is that Willow feels sick from eating the rat itself. If her digestive tract is not used to ingesting fur and bones she may be feeling sick from that. It would really be best to have Willow checked out as soon as possible by a veterinarian. They can assess blood work to make sure she is not anemic (as some rat poison can cause this) and also make sure she is not showing other signs of toxicity. They can also give her things like IV fluids or other supportive care if necessary. Thank you for using Boop by Petco and I hope Willow is feeling better quickly!

Warfarin (Coumdain) usage in cats is highly problematic and can cause massive internal bleeding. I would highly recommend taking your pet to your local vet right away for monitoring and treatment (if needed). I know it may be hard to find a vet open on today. Time is of the essence and I urge you to take Louie to an open Veterinary Emergency hospital for care. It is not wise to wait until tomorrow because sadly it could be too late to reverse the damage to his kidneys.
