My dog is lethargic, vomiting, gurgling, constipated. Foreign body?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Exotic | Unknown - Exotic | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 8 days old | 35 lbs

Zephyre is having labored breathing though at a normal rate, she is gurgling & hacking a lot but swallows back down whatever is coming up. Yesterday she vomited a few times, not yet today. Yesterday & today she has been constipated with the last stool seen clear and mucousy. When I rub & press on her belly she moans a bit but could be annoyed. She is lethargic & grouchy toward the other pups. She ate some yesterday & is still drinking, but energy is declining. Could she have a foreign body?

Hello, yes she could have a foreign body or could be sick form something else such as with parasites or with a viral infection. If she continues to have a decreased appetite, develops vomiting again, or becomes even more lethargic then she should be seen by her veterinarian soon. If she ate a different diet she could have an upset stomach as well. Hope she starts to feel better soon and best of luck.
