Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | 7 lbs
I rescued an aging cat 3 years ago. Some idiot left her after vacating an apt. She is the sweetest. I took to vet for her shots etc, said she was 12 or so years. I noticed 2 days ago she has a lesion on her lower lip/gum. It has left faint bloody stains on her bed. I am not ready to give up on her. It has caused her to be withdrawn and I know it hurts. I am taking her to vet on Monday. I guess I want to be prepared in what to expect. I don't have a lot of money but I want her to be comfortable

This look like it could be feline acne which is an infection of the skin. This can be very painful, but is not a terrible disease. The vet will clean and disinfect the skin and then prescribe some antibiotics for her. This is according what I could see on the photos, which was not very clear. That is a very nice kitty and you are taking good care of her

It is a bit difficult to tell in these pictures, but these might be rodent ulcers (otherwise known as eosinophilic plaques or granulomas). If this is the case, they are usually somewhat difficult to treat and can take a while to resolve. Usually they require steroids to control the inflammation and a systemic antibiotic at the beginning of the course of therapy. You will need to visit with your veterinarian in order to obtain the necessary therapeutics for Roxy. Repeat treatments can sometimes be required, so do not be discouraged if the first go-round does not completely get rid of everything. Hope this makes sense.
