My dog ate iron supplements. Should I worry about 110mg of iron?

My dog consumed about 110 mg of iron from hair supplements. Is this an unhealthy amount?

Your dog's daily iron requirement would be approximately 8mg of iron. This means she ingested about 13 times her daily requirement. This should not be a problem as the toxic amount ingested would be more than 60mg/kg body weight, ie , in the case of your dog, around 1000mg. Just make sure she has no more access to your supplement and just keep feeding her her regular good quality food.
