My cat's paw pad is hanging off. What immediate care can I give?

That’s sounds painful. The pad that’s hanging off will not heal back. I recommend a veterinary visit where they can give your cat some pain medication and sedation so they can trim off part of the pad. He may need a paw bandage and antibiotics also. This may take several weeks to fully heal. This would be difficult to treat at home. You can try soaking the foot in warm water with epsoms salt, or dilute antibacterial solution, twice a day, until you can get him to your veterinarian.
