My dog has a worsening head bump that looks like a fight. What is it?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 years and 9 months old | 75 lbs

What can this be? My dog had bump on head then next day got worse. So just put cream to disinfect it. It looks like fight with animal but not sure

That looks like a ruptured abscess from the picture. These can be caused by a bite wound, an infected cyst, or other type of puncture. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. She will probably need antibiotics and possibly some pain medications. In the meantime a warm water compress may help with comfort as well as help to clean it up a little. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
