When can my 5-week-old puppy get parvo shots? Safe for other dogs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Blue Heeler | Female | unspayed | 27 days old

Just got my pup due to her mother getting six she no longer could nurse them. I have her home and in milk replacer and she is starting to eat solid watered down puppy chow. I have two other dogs at home that she is around I was wondering if five weeks was to early to give her her first set of pravo shots? Or would it be ok to wait until she is six weeks will it effect my other dogs at all since they are around each other

Yes 5 weeks is too early for the first vaccination which should be given not before 7-8 weeks, vaccinations have very little to no effect before that. if your other dogs are vaccinated you have nothing to worry about.
