My dog is suddenly panicking, shaking, and won't stay on my bed. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 2 months old | 15 lbs

He suddenly started panicking and being clingy. He won't stay on my bed and he won't stop shaking. He has been like this for about 10 hours now. There are no signs of injury. He was fine laying next to me, and then he wasn't fine and this odd behavior started. He slept in my laundry basket and is fine while he's down there. What is going on with my baby?

The symptoms you are describing sound like Ranger is scared or anxious about something. There may be something outside or in the environment (like an oncoming storm) that is causing Ranger anxiety. If the unusual behavior continues throughout the day then I would recommend taking him to your veterinarian to be examined. I hope this helps.
