What are the health risks of dogs licking food off human faces?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male

We are in the process of developing a new light entertainment, slapstick gameshow for early Saturday evening and I am seeking some advice about one of the rounds. The round in question, would require our 7 contestants to put a little bit of food on their cheek whilst our dog chooses which of our 7-contestant’s face they want to lick which would result in that contestant making it through the round. I am writing to ask whether you have any concerns about the game itself?

While I'm sure the game would be funny and entetaining. I do have a few concerns. There is always the potential for a person to accidentally be bitten on the face if the dog is over stimulated while trying to lick the food. Secondly, the dog could develop vomiting and diarrhea from too many snacks of human food. Finally, while it is uncommon, dogs can spread parasites to humans.
