My cat was hit by a car. She's hiding and limping. Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female

My cat got gently hit by a car while backing it up in the driveway, I suspect she might have some pain in the back legs, since she doesn't let me touch them and she's sleeping under the desk, she also hasn't lost any appetite, walks kind of slowly, she's not jumping and not running. We are also not letting her go outside for now. Any tips or advice on what could be the problem or any treatment? She's also been home for at least a day now, When would be the best time to see the vet to diagnose?

You should take your kitty to a vet as soon as possible after the accident for an exam as she could have internal bleeding, a ruptured bladder and also broken bones. The fact that she is hiding and only walking slowly is a sign that she is in pain and got injured in the accident. What we perceive as a gentle bump is quite a hard hit for a cat. Please take Mice to a vet ASAP.
