My dog ate sugar-free gum. No vet open. What can I do at home?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 months old

Patch ate happydent sugar free chewing gum about half an hour back. I don't have any vet clinics open in the area or in the city. What should I do to help him at home??? He is sleeping at the moment. I need serious help. Am worried.

Check thee package of the chewing gum and look if the sweetener in it is xylitol. If so, then your dog will have xylitol intoxication which causes the body to be undersugared, If you cannot find a veterinarian to put Patches on a glucose drip, try to get some glucose or honey and feed him several teaspoons every few hours until you can get him to a vet for a glucose test and an exam. You may have to drive to Chennai and take him to a vet there, if he starts having seizures.
