Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 years old | 12 lbs
Why has my nine-year-old spayed indoor cat suddenly started to hiss at me occasionally (usually when I'm in the kitchen)? She has no other symptoms, but this is very unusual behaviour for her. Should I take her to the vet? Or just observe?

Hello, any unusual behavior should be checked out. In her own way, Prudence is trying to tell you something is not right. She may be in some pain or discomfort, have an infection somewhere, or just sense that something else is amiss. I would recommend having some blood work & a urinalysis done so that nothing is missed. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
