Should my 1-year-old Basenji mix be tested for Fanconi kidney disease?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 40 lbs

Would fanconi syndrome pop up on a 1 year old basenji mix because i am curious if i should have a precaution test run on a basenji mix that i am about to get but she is only 1

Because of the predisposition of basenjis have with this specific kidney disease I do think it would be a good idea to monitor Lily’s kidney values and have a urinalysis performed at least once a year. Hopefully Lily will not have any issues but if you are doing early monitoring it will help you catch a problem sooner and allow for more rapid treatment. I hope this helps.
