Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered
Fours days ago we found our cat unable to move his back legs. After rushing him to the emergency vet they did a scan and found that one of his discs in the middle of his spinal cord had ruptured completely and gone, with bruising and a bleed on his spine. He is still paralysed from the waist down, with no deep pain sensation and is unable to use his bladder by himself. They also found signs of degeneration in his spine. He is only 6.5 years old. We don't want to give up on him or not give him lo

I would take him to a rehabilitation veterinarian who can do acupuncture also. I see many paralyzed animals that recover with neurological retraining exercises, laser, hydrotherapy and acupuncture. The sooner he receives treatment the better the outcome. Even if he doesn’t get 100% better many animals can still live a happy life with proper care from the owners. Please take him in soon to give him a chance. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Reg.
