This could be an abscess, fluid, if the swelling of the casque came on all of a sudden or over a very short period of time. This would need to be seen by a vet and drained. If the swelling came on over a longer period of time it could be fat storage, as chameleons store fat in their casque. So if your chameleon was overfed, or very fatty food, this may be the cause.
