Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 9 lbs
Hi, my dog has been suffering from skin allergy for three months now. Earlier she has had red rashes on some parts of her back which is now cured through medication. Suddenly i can see another allergy on her neck, it has become slightly black in color but no rashes. Also, i saw two symmetric black tiny spots on her back today. I am worried what could it be, seems like a tickbite but it's not as she doesn't have hair right now, i would have spotted a tick easily. Please suggest what has happened

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). Underlying allergy can predispose to skin infection. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching. This does sound like an infection secondary to allergic skin disease, especially given the improvement with treatment. An antiseptic suitable for use around the head such as vetericyn spray may also help. Further investigation to rule out additional issues such as mites or hormonal conditions may also be required
