My cat has a leg wound with green pus, no limp. Is it infected?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed

My cat midnight has a wound on her front leg that has no hair and looks painful but she’s not limping nor acting out in pain. She just won’t let me touch it. It has started to ooze a greenish puss no blood.

Ouch, poor Midnight! This wound could be from a bite from another animal or she could have injured herself. If there is pus present, then it is infected. She will need to see a vet to have it treated. For tonight, gently wash the area with warm water and antiseptic soap, then have her seen by a vet in the morning to get antibiotics to treat the infection. Good luck, I hope this helps!
