Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 10 lbs

I have a tranquilizer to be used during nail trimming. It is called Acepromazine 10mg. Is this medication safe for cats too?

Acepromazine is commonly used in cats for tranquilization, but does have some potential side effects. I am attaching a link to a handout below which discusses Acepromazine in more detail for you. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=570 I hope that was helpful and answered your question.
