My cat has sores on chin and ear. Are they scratches or disease?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I found two sores on my cat. One on it's chin text to the mouth and one next to it's ear. I'm not sure if they are scratches from fighting with my other cat or some skin disease.

this could be from fighting or scratching. I would observe the lesions and if they scab over or start healing, you need to do nothing. If they increase in size or if a swelling appears or if they start to ooze pus, you will need to have them examined by a veterinarian as they may be turning into cat bite abscesses, which are easily treated. (treatment ,would depend on severity, ie an abscess may have to be lanced, flushed and antibiotics prescribed).
