Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 6 days old

I was wondering if you could help me by telling me what this is.. It's on our pitbull and it's getting worse. We have used multiple lotions and creams and give her frequent baths.. The other dog and cat cuddle with her and they don't have it and she lays with us

This is a skin infection. Medicated baths sometimes help but fair skinned dogs are more prone to allergies and skin infections. To clear this up she probably needs oral antibiotics for several weeks. This is not contagious. Some dogs develop this when laying in a moist area, or on something irritating. Please take her for a veterinary exam to confirm the problem and get medication to treat this.
