When you describe your dog as ‘fly biting’ it makes me concerned that he is having seizure-like activity. If he is having seizures this would explain his abnormal behavior. The gums in this picture appear normal so I would not worry about that. I would recommend visiting your veterinarian as soon as possible. It would definitely be helpful to show them the video you recorded. Be sure to keep track of any/all other instances that this happens. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor guy! From your picture his gum color seems fine. Common causes for his behavior could be fleas, anal gland problems, back or joint pain. You can easily check for fleas at home with a fine tooth comb. Fleas like the area on the back by the tail, so comb there a few times. Then take a wet white paper towel to wipe the fur off. If you see black squiggly flecks that melt to blood on the paper towel that indicated flea poop. Obviously if you see live fleas you have your answer too. If there aren't any fleas I would make an appointment to have him examined. The vet will check him over for pain and see if his anal glands are full, impacted or infected. I hope this helps and I wish you guys the best!
