Why is my dog's paw folding over and losing control when walking?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 3 months old | 60 lbs

We left our English bull dog for the weekend and came home to him kind of limping around, we thought maybe he hurt himself and left it at that. It has now progressed to him not having control of his paw when he walks it folds over almost like he can’t put pressure or can’t flex it out to lay it flat. Please help

This sounds like a neurological condition of the foot, i couldn't tell you what is the exact cause but it is probably serious. i would recommend taking Bentley to the vet as soon as you can, the vet will perform a full neurological examination in order to assess the severity of the condition and will then proceed to a treatment plan.
