My senior cat has a bloody skin wound. What should I do now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

We noticed blood on the floor around my cat and when we checked her, we noticed what seems to be some sort of bloody opening on her skin. We are really worried and not sure what we need to do about this. She’s relatively old so she doesn’t go outside at all. Please help us figure out what we need to do!

It looks like a burst abscess but it could also be an ulcerated tumor, i strongly advise taking her to the vet today in order to get it checked and treated, she will need an antibiotic injection at the very least in order to heal from this.
