Do dog face markings change size? Help identify my lost Border Collie.

Although colours can fade and tint a little, and scars can occasionally heal white it would be very unusual to gain/lose solid white toe markings as seen in the third picture on the front foot and not in the first picture. Checking the microchip or a DNA test if samples can be obtained may provide more information

Based on the black and white markings and the length of the coat, I would say your puppy looks most like a border collie. As they get older, the characteristics of the specific breed can become more apparent. What a cutie!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am not sure I know what spot you are referring to, but I think you mean the pinker spot on the left upper lip. It could be just be an area that lost some pigmentation, an area of trauma that will resolve or a permanent change in pigment. Hello. I would agree that the female does not have the typical confirmation of a border collie. This may indicate a possible congenital problem, a type of dwarfism, but most likely there were two fathers for this litter. Because of the way a female dog ovulates, you could have two different males inseminate a single pregnancy. The only other option is the breeder intentionally duped you. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Can you post a picture? If this is a new change then I would have him checked by your Vet. It could be bruising of the skin from a clotting issue or low platelets, infectious causes or trauma. Another possibilities is excessive tearing. Dog tears contain a pigment that is reddish brown and can stain the fur around the eyes. Please post a picture if you can so we can better guide you. I hope this helps!

If not associated with itchiness or discomfort, this is unlikely to require any therapy at all.
