My 10-year-old dog has a stomach lump and bloody nipples. What's wrong?

Yes, I would be worried about Loca. In a senior dog, a large lump could potentially be a malignant tumor. Bloody nipples are also not normal, and she could have hurt herself or may have mammary tumors causing the bloody nipples. Best thing to do is have her seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can diagnose what is causing the lump and bloody nipples, and can discuss treatment options with you. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Yes, I would be worried because it's not normal for dogs to have bleeding lumps. It could be a cyst, but in a senior dog, there is always a concern that it's a malignant tumor. I would apply gentle pressure to the lump to try to stop the bleeding, and then have Raya seen by the vet in the morning. The vet can diagnose what is causing the lump, and can discuss treatment options with you. Keep her from licking at it overnight, and you may have to put an Ecollar on her to stop her from doing it. Hello! My dog has a ball on her stomach where one of her nipple is. It hurts her if we touch it. I was wondering what the possibilities were.
Hi. This is a very big mass. If it is firm and painful, this is concerning in an unspayed, older pet is cancer unfortunately. Besides a cancer, other possibilities include infection, cyst, lipoma, a benign mammary tumor, hernia, etc. She should be fully checked out and have the mass sampled to get an answer. The sooner the better in this case.

My dog has a lump on her nipple this happened before but went away but now I'm worried since 3 days ago she poop blood with mucus and she vomited last night brown liquid now she's laying around all day she a shitzhu teacup 5 years old
I would recommend that Linda see a vet. The lump may or may not be related to her other signs but vomitting and diarrhea with lethargy can become serious quickly in small breed dogs. Blood in her stool and brown vomitus indicates bleeding in her GI tract so she may be at risk of anemia as well as dehydration. She should be seen asap if she is still vomitting or lethargic and depressed. And mammary cancer is more likely to occur in unspayed females so the lump should be checked out as well. I hope Linda is feeling better soon.

I would be very concerned she may have a mammary tumour which may be causing her symptoms. Please get her assessed by your vet urgently, they may wish to run bloods to rule out infection and other medical causes also given her age

Large hard lump all red no pus or bleeding..about 2 inch lump
Unfortunately in a senior dog like Libby, there is always a chance this lump could be a malignant tumor. It could also be a benign tumor, but the only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Libby into the vet tomorrow to have this lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed.

This appears to be a large mammary tumour or mastitis which with her other symptoms is very concerning. She must be assessed by a vet to determine the most appropriate treatment, both conditions can ve life threatening if not treated

This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors. As for the bump, my biggest concern would be an enlarged lymph node and mammary cancer. The black stool, lethargy, and thirst are suggestive of bleeding in the intestines. Since she is not spayed, a pyometra would also be a possibility. You need to get her to a veterinarian as soon as possible for bloodwork and abdominal x-rays or ultrasound.

Many mammary tumours shrink temporarily after antibiotics as they often become infected in the centre, intact bitches can also develop mastitis which responds to antibiotics also. I would be concerned the bloodied discharge could be related to a womb infection and would recommend an ultrasound to rule this out. Bleeding around the eye is a warning flag for lymphoma but can occur secondary to many inflammatory conditions, referral to an ophthalmologist would be worthwhile in order to explore all avenues
