Why do my birds keep chewing perches and ladders? Is it normal?

For quite some time both of my birds have been chewing the life out of their perches and ladders. I give them gravel grit, and greens, and vitamins in their water. Is this normal, or is there a deficiency, or an underlying problem? Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 10 months old

It's definitely normal and is more of a nesting/boredom behavior rather than an indication of a vitamin or mineral deficiency. You can get them to chew on other toys or other objects if you want to minimize the damage to the perches and ladders.
