Dog's butt red and licking after sanitary shave. What can I do?

I shaved my dog sanitary area,my first time to do it to him. Since i shaved it he ia been scooting and licking his butt, and his licking his paws too. What should i do to help him. His butt is red. I dont know if the scotting is from shaving or anal gland. I put hydrocortisone once today on him but it didnt help. I attached one of the paw hurting him, penis area and butt area i shaved. I would give him a cool water bath with a hypoallergenic shampoo to soothe the skin. He should be in a cone if he’s licking the area. It is most likely from the shaving. You can give Benadryl to calm the itching. There is a section on this website with dosages and facts about common over the counter medications you can give your dog. The cortisone cream may help calm the skin too. This may take several days for the irritation to improve. If he makes sores please take him in for an exam and medication to control the itching.
