Terrapin eye problem: Why is my turtle shutting its eye in pain?

Hello my name is Ryan and I have 2 yellow belly terrapins which are 4 years old however one of them keeps shutting their left eye like they are winking at me they do like they are in pain many thanks,Ryan. Pet's info: Amphibian | Unknown - Amphibian | Male | 3 years and 2 months old

It sounds like the terrapin may have an eye infection or may have damaged the eye. Firstly I would take it to a reptile vet to have the eye examined and treated if needed. Secondly make sure the water is clean as this could be a source of infection.
