Why do my cats prefer rain and snow water over tap or purified?

I have 2 ferral cats that reside in my sunroom. They are both loveable. They used to drink purified or tape water now they only want rain or snow water, why? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think so animals prefer the minerals in rain water and water from creeks and streams. Also it tends to be more aerated and cool. It just may a taste preference. I wouldn't worry too much about it. They will do fine with either type of water. I hope this helps!
