Poor girl. Diarrhea can be caused by a number of things including a bacterial or viral infection. If she is otherwise eating well and has a normal energy level, you can try a few things first before heading to the vet. 1) I would suggest deworming her (if not done already) with an over the counter from your local pet store. 2) You should also feed a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for 4-7 days and then slow transition back to her normal diet. 3) Add 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin to her diet daily to add fiber and help bulk up her stool. 4) Give daily probiotics. Culturelle over the counter works well and is nearly equivalent to pet formulated probiotics. If she is still having loose stool with no improvement after 24-48 hrs, then it’s best to have her seen by your vet for further care. If she is lethargic she needs to be seen right away. Best of luck to you and I hope Harper gets better soon. Take care.
