My cat has a lump above his eye, nasal discharge, and is withdrawn. Is it cancer?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | 2 years and 2 months old

My cat has developed a quite massive lump above his right eye, i only noticed it this morning and it seems to already be making his eye squinty. It's not red maybe a little bit pink but its effecting his behavior. He also has a lot of discharge coming out of his nose which he never has before. He's usually the most affectionate kitty i know but he won't have a bar of me. Is this a tumour? Could he have cancer?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!
