Your dog still may vomit the bone or some of the bone fragments and she will probably have an upset stomach for a day or so. She will probably also develop diarrhea or soft stools because of ingesting the bones. Keep a close eye on her and if the vomiting lasts more than 24 hours or she starts having bloody stools, you will need to take her to the veterinarian. Likewise, if she refuses to eat for more than 12-24 hours you should take her in. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck!

This is a medical emergency and Holly has to see a vet now. If she ate a bone three days ago, this could be causing an obstruction leading her to violently throwing up and be unable to pass feces. A laxative will not cure an obstruction. If this bone is causing an obstruction, she will need surgery to remove it. An obstruction is fatal without treatment, and Holly needs veterinary attention right away. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is very concerning for a possible gastrointestinal obstruction. I would highly recommend you consider having Homie evaluated as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for this and possibly confirm it. If this is actually diagnosed, surgery may be needed. Another possibility is dietary indiscretion though I am more concerned about an obstruction. Good luck and have a great day!
