My dog's blood test results are abnormal. What do high levels mean?

My dog has had some blood tests come back With abnormalities. Can you explain further what these mean? Did speak to vet but he was vague HAEMATOLOGY White Cell Count 14.3 10^9/l (6 -17 ) Haemoglobin * 19.3 g/dl High (12 - 18 ) Red Cell Count 6.78 10^12/L (5.5 - 8.5) PCV * 58.3 % High (37 -55 ) MCV * 86.0 fl Hig

Hello, and thank you for your question. It is difficult to interpret the results accurately without a medical history, however, in general: - white cell count is within normal range, indicating no sign of infection or inflammation - hemoglobin and PCV are slightly high, which usually indicates mild dehydration. This can be due to not drinking much water for a few hours prior to the blood sample, or from fluid losses through vomiting or diarrhea - MCV is an indicator of red cell size, which is only relevant if the pet is anemic (which Coco is not).
