Why is my cat's eye hair causing pain, tearing, and closed eyes?

Hi this is Jack he has a problem with his eyes, He is an American shorthair male cat the hair around his eyes are going into his eyes and it’s hurting him i took him to the vet they say the eyes are ok no infection no bacteria only the hair and he can’t open them good he prefer closing his eyes and when he eat his eyes is tearing I need to know what can i do to help him open his eyes again and never be bothered with that Ps he has a 5 month daughter (Luna)she start to have the same problem

I would recommend referral to an ophthalmologist or dermatologist, it is likely he will require corrective surgery to improve the angle of his eyelids and prevent the hairs from scratching his eyeball causing pain. It is likely Luna will also require surgery
