My dog's ear was bitten. Does the stitched wound dressing look okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 13 days old | 54 lbs

My dog got bit by another dog on her ear. There was about a inch & a half long opening that was also about a half an inch under the skin. It created a skin flap. The Vet glued it 1st but it didn't hold & stitched it 4 days later. We're full time travelers & want to make sure she is getting the best care but it's hard when you are not familiar with an area & have to choose the nearest vet. Does the current dressing look okay? Should it not be flat? a second opinion would help out. Thanks.

It’s so tough to tell from pictures alone, but I don’t see anything alarming. If you see any discharge from the wound, or if it seems to be opening up I’d recheck from the vet. From what I can see, if healing continues normally Olive should be fine.
