Why is my dog having seizures and acting weird after parvo?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog is 2 years and a half. She had the parvo virus and got treated on October 2016. But ever since she came home from the treatment she has been foaming out the mouth, her back legs give out and has seizures. She eats and drinks everyday. She also has been barking at the wall and slamming herself against the walls. She has not come in contact with no other animals. What could this be?

There are a number of possibilities but it sounds like her brain and possibly her vision become affected, possibly from epileptic seizures or from a brain injury or viral damage. I recommend you video these episodes and show them to your vet, they may want to start her on seizure medication; blood work and mri imaging may also be recommended to investigate medical and neurological causes
