Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 8 years old

My beagle cannot have the flea drops on her back because she has sensitive skin. We have her the flea tablets but we don't know what else to do. Are there any shampoos that we could try or are there other options?? Please help!

in addition to my recommendation, you may also try bathing her in warm water with the Blue dawn dish soap to get the current live fleas off however it is important to not bath too much or often with that as it will dry out her skin and may cause additional issues

Fleas are always frustrating. it would be recommended to clean the house thoroughly. I have always recommended to purchase a flea collar, cut it into pieces, and place the pieces in the vacuum cleaner. vacuum the home well daily or multiple times a day and remove the bag or empty the canister and take it outside immediately. Also, it would be best to wash all possible fabrics in the house. Depending on the tablets you are using depends on how frequently you can give them. i would reach out to your vet to see if maybe here is another option of flea prevention such as a seresto collar for her or if it is o to give another dose of the medication as it may have worn off quicker than it should.
