Male GSD six months old has a UTI and is on antibiotics. He paced about in the house and in the yard. Is this just his way of dealing with the discomfort

Cooper will be uncomfortable from having a UTI, and this pacing can be an indication of his discomfort. I would keep an eye on him, however, and if you notice he starts having trouble urinating where he will squat and strain with nothing coming out, cries in pain when trying to urinate, becomes very lethargic, or starts vomiting, I would take him into a vet immediately.

Usually this sign is not related to UTI and rarely is caused by discomfort. If the pacing does not stop and last more than 1 hour a check up is needed as it is more related to a neurological sign. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation (where you can post pictures ) if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
