Is it normal for my male cat to purr and meow at a new male kitten?

Benji also plays with the new kitten and does this light purring thing at him and small meows. We plan on getting him fixed within the next week. Can male cats do this to male kittens ?? Or is it just male to female or female to male

It's fine that Benji plays with the new kitten, and it is normal behavior that he purrs and meows at him. Getting him fixed is a great idea! If he was kept intact, he would show dominance behavior over him by biting his neck and making humping motions, but he wouldn't be trying to mate with him. It's just a way cats can show dominance over another cat.
