Hello my 7mos old chowchow got his nose bleeding since last night (12hours ago) and everytime he sneeze, blood splatters everywhere. I tried giving cold water to drink and cold compress on his nape and his nose bridge. I dont know what to do next.

I would have Pumba seen by a vet for this. It's not good that his nose has been bleeding for 12 hours, and it could be caused by a fungal infection, injury, respiratory disease, or foreign body. It would be best if he was seen by an ER vet or a vet on call now because his nose has been bleeding for a while. The vet can diagnose what is causing the bleeding and can treat him for it.

I am so sorry to hear about Mugsy. I would recommend getting him to the vet immediately with these symptoms. There are a number of possible causes for bleeding from the nose/mouth, including a bleeding disorder (which can have a number of causes including ingestion of rodent poisons and immune disorders), trauma, and bleeding tumors or masses. The safest course of action is to get him in to the vet immediately so they can examine him and get him started on treatment as some of these conditions can be life threatening.

Poor guy! I"m sorry to hear that. It may be that he just has some significant inflammation of the nasal cavity that resulted in the bleeding. It could be that he has a nasal foreign body (such as a grass seed, etc) up there, or a nasal tumor. Take him in to see your vet. As long as its not continuing to bleed, then its not an emergency, but get him in as soon as you can. Thanks for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

Just monitor the bleeding, make sure it stops within a reasonable time (not more than 2 hours of light bleeding), if it does stop there is no need to do anything else. if the bleeding does not stop you will need to take Lola to the vet in order to get the bleeding under control.
