We believe steroid responsive meningitis is caused by an immune mediated disorder, but we aren't entirely sure, which is why it is an idiopathic disease (unknown cause). However there are no known documented cases of steroid responsive meningitis being caused by topical flea/tick medication. However, there are cases of seizure activity, muscle spasms, and skin irritation caused by either of these preventatives on rare occurrences.
