I just took in our puppy Jax today. He was sold to us covered in fleas, underweight, flea wounds, & extremely hungry. He wasnt taken care of at all. While bathing him to remove fleas, i found a large abscess? (Pocket of fluid about the size of a quater) its under his chin, right below his left jaw bone. I called an emgency vet but she said to bring him in monday. Does he need to be seen asap or can it be monitored from home to see if it improves or worsens over a few days? It isnt painful at all

I'm sorry your received Jax in such poor condition, how awful for him! That is terrible they didn't take care of him at all. Given it's current size, you can monitor it at home and bring him into the vet on Monday, but if it starts getting significantly bigger, he stops eating, becomes lethargic, or it appears painful, then I would take him into a vet asap.
