My dog has a tummy ache and loud stomach noises. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 9 months old | 4 lbs

What should I give my little precious for her tummy ache? Her tummy is making loud noises and the poor thing is all curled up with me on the bed.

Abdominal pain in dogs is different than in himans, you can't give her meds without knowing what is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours, but if she is not better by then or if she seems worse you need to take her to the vet in order to get it checked, it could be serious.

If she ate something she should not have or had a change in food or picked up an infection, then she may have an upset stomach that is making her nauseated. If you notice any vomiting or diarrhea or her appetite hasn’t not returned after 24 hours then I would be concerned and have her checked by your vet.
