Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 7 years and 2 months old | 99 lbs
My dog has a reddish, slightly swollen circle around his eye. He's been on steroids, antibiotics and a cream for 2 weeks and it's not clearing up. He's had it before, but the vet doesn't seem to know what it is and just hands us the rx's without thoroughly examining him. Any ideas? He tends to in it with his paw or on furniture so it must be causing him discomfort. He had a fever when it first appeared as well. Thank you.

This sign must be investigated to determine the underlying cause, as the generic treatment for possible infection/allergic reaction has been tried already. I would recommend skin scrapes and hair plugs to determine if mites or fungi are involved.
